The Genoa Aquarium features the richest display of aquatic biodiversity in Europe.

More than 70 environments and approximately 12,000 specimens from 600 species, originating from seas all over the world. From rare species such as manatees—mythical “sirens”—to dolphins; from penguins to sharks. As well as jellyfish, seals, and brightly colored tropical fish.

Challenges:

• 1,200 kWe / 1,300 kWt natural gas cogeneration unit installed on the aquarium roof
• 1,100 kWf lithium bromide absorption chiller
• Extremely limited available space
• Protection of animals from noise and vibrations
